Emma 23 months

I cannot believe that Emma will be 2 in a month!  What a joy our sweet little girl is to us!  She is little miss independent and is very determined to do things her own way…all the time.  One of her favorite phrases these days is “by myself.”  Fortunately, she also loves to say, “I love Mommy” and “I love Daddy” along with “yeshmam” and “yeshsir”.  Too cute!

This past month we have stayed busy!  The third weekend in September took us to the wedding of some good friends.  Emma loved the wedding and especially enjoyed getting to sit by her little buddy Dana.  The next weekend we headed up to Lake Winnie to spend the day at the amusement park.  Emma rode several of the rides.  However, her favorite park was the picnic deck that had awesome stairs to climb up and down!  We took Emma to her second Georgia Tech football game ever.  It was homecoming and Tech played Virginia.  We had a great time at the game and really enjoyed catching up with some friends.  Tech has won both games she has gone too…I think that is a good sign!  We finished out this month by going to visit the Pumpkin Patch over at Due West UMC in Marietta.  Emma loved the pumpkins and we enjoyed the beautiful weather the evening that we went.

The more that Emma grows up, the more I realize how overwhelming God’s love is for us.  Even when she is frustrated or upset, there is nothing more that I would rather do than scoop her up and hold her close.  Emma is becoming more independent, but she is also becoming more clingy in some ways.  She is the perfect balance of snuggly and confident.  It has been a blast watching her develop friendships with the children of some of our friends.  She loves going to her school and especially visiting Mommy at work at NCCS.  It is so exciting to know that she will have the opportunity to grow up in such an awesome Christ-honoring school community.

Clint and I are so blessed to have Emma as our daughter.  These first 2 years have flown by.  We are treasuring each moment and every stage.  We are also looking forward to what is ahead for our sweet daughter.  We believe that God has big things in store for her as she gets to an age where she will trust Jesus as her Savior and live for Him.  We love you Emma!
