Emma: May 2011

May is a crazy month for me as a high school principal with the school year wrapping up, graduation, and lots of exciting things going on.  I am so grateful that Emma is so easygoing and willing to always be out and about.  Clint and I are incredibly blessed that Emma loves to be around people.  One of my dear friends described Emma as having a “ready smile” and I think that is one of the coolest things for her to be known by.  We desire first and foremost for Emma to know Jesus and to run hard after Him and His glory.  After that, we pray that she would be known as someone that cares about others, someone that contributes to the group she is a part of, and as someone that is authentic in her words and her actions.

This past month has brought with it even more exciting things as Emma continues to grow and become even more independent than she already is.  Emma is always watching and learning.  She loves to run around the house singing and laughing.  We call her our microsnuggler because she is very loving and affectionate…just quick about it.  One of her favorite things is to give two kisses.  One is “easy” and the second is a “BIG ONE”.

Now that the weather is warm…I mean blazing hot…we have spent time at the pool and on the lake.  Our family loves the water and we look forward to creating many fun memories this summer.  This summer we are definitely going to knock out potty training and continue some other things.  We are going to continue lots of days of blowing bubbles, sidewalk chalk, soccer (inside and outside), and anything else that Miss Emma comes up with.  I love the fact that she likes to sleep in my tshirts and insists on leaving her flip flops right by her bed.  She checks her “email” when Clint and I have our laptops open and she is always writing lists and “calling people”.  May was a great month and we are looking forward to an awesome summer!
