{"id":11315,"date":"2018-02-22T22:16:52","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T03:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=11315"},"modified":"2018-02-22T22:16:52","modified_gmt":"2018-02-23T03:16:52","slug":"book-review-reset","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=11315","title":{"rendered":"Book Review: Reset"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Reset-Living-Grace-Paced-Burnout-Culture\/dp\/1433555182\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1519354366&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=david+murray\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-11316\" alt=\"reset\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/reset-300x170.png\" width=\"300\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/reset-300x170.png 300w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/reset-1024x580.png 1024w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/reset.png 1100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;God is a God of order, not of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33), and as his created image-bearers, we glorify him\u2014and feel much happier\u2014when we live regular, orderly lives. \u00a0He made our world and us in such a way that we flourish when our lives are characterized by a basic rhythm and regularity.&#8221; David Murray, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Reset-Living-Grace-Paced-Burnout-Culture\/dp\/1433555182\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1519354366&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=david+murray\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Reset<\/em><\/a> p. 133<\/p>\n<p>This book was refreshing to my soul!\u00a0 I&#8217;m excited to read David Murray&#8217;s wife&#8217;s book as well on this same topic of resetting.\u00a0 Once you have decided enough is enough&#8230;you are ready to dive into this.\u00a0 \u00a0If you don&#8217;t get to that point, it&#8217;s likely that the circumstances of life will drive you to that point.\u00a0 The Lord will get your attention if you have strayed too far down the path away from Him.\u00a0 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Reset-Living-Grace-Paced-Burnout-Culture\/dp\/1433555182\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1519354366&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=david+murray\" target=\"_blank\">Reset<\/a><\/em> is a great book for anyone.\u00a0 It probably fits men a little easier with the garage analogies, but the Scriptural truth is applicable to both genders and people of any age.\u00a0 I&#8217;m grateful that I&#8217;ve already walked through many of the resets that Murray mentions&#8230;and excited to study some new strategies as well!<\/p>\n<p>I highlighted several things while reading and have posted those notes below&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"UTF-8\"?--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acts 17:26 And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, (ESV) p. 49<\/li>\n<li>Studies show that a lack of sleep depletes and weakens the brain\u2019s self-control center, leading to higher levels of unethical behavior. p. 60<\/li>\n<li>Matthew 6:25\u201327 \u201cTherefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? (ESV) p. 65<\/li>\n<li>Psalm 127:2 It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep. (ESV) p. 65<\/li>\n<li>Psalm 4:8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.
