{"id":1456,"date":"2010-01-14T08:15:20","date_gmt":"2010-01-14T12:15:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=1456"},"modified":"2010-01-14T08:15:20","modified_gmt":"2010-01-14T12:15:20","slug":"nehemiah-day-ten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=1456","title":{"rendered":"Nehemiah: Day Ten"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No posts the past two days because I have been studying, reading, and preparing to speak in our middle and upper school chapels yesterday. \u00a0I love the opportunity to do that on occasion and had a great time yesterday challenging our students to make a plan for how they are going to use the opportunities ahead of them in twentyTEN to point people to Jesus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/the-nehemiah-project.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1410\" title=\"the-nehemiah-project\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/the-nehemiah-project-300x117.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/the-nehemiah-project-300x117.jpg 300w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/the-nehemiah-project.jpg 499w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Text: Nehemiah 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"main_Neh_10\">\n<p><span class=\"verse Neh_10_1\"><strong>1<\/strong> On the seals are the names of Nehemiah the governor, the son of Hacaliah, Zedekiah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_2\"><strong>2<\/strong> Seraiah, Azariah, Jeremiah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_3\"><strong>3<\/strong> Pashhur, Amariah, Malchijah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_4\"><strong>4<\/strong> Hattush, Shebaniah, Malluch,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_5\"><strong>5<\/strong> Harim, Meremoth, Obadiah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_6\"><strong>6<\/strong> Daniel, Ginnethon, Baruch,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_7\"><strong>7<\/strong> Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_8\"><strong>8<\/strong> Maaziah, Bilgai, Shemaiah; these are the priests.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_9\"><strong>9<\/strong> And the Levites: Jeshua the son of Azaniah, Binnui of the sons of Henadad, Kadmiel;<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_10\"><strong>10<\/strong> and their brothers, Shebaniah, Hodiah, Kelita, Pelaiah, Hanan,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_11\"><strong>11<\/strong> Mica, Rehob, Hashabiah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_12\"><strong>12<\/strong> Zaccur, Sherebiah, Shebaniah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_13\"><strong>13<\/strong> Hodiah, Bani, Beninu.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_14\"><strong>14<\/strong> The chiefs of the people: Parosh, Pahath-moab, Elam, Zattu, Bani,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_15\"><strong>15<\/strong> Bunni, Azgad, Bebai,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_16\"><strong>16<\/strong> Adonijah, Bigvai, Adin,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_17\"><strong>17<\/strong> Ater, Hezekiah, Azzur,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_18\"><strong>18<\/strong> Hodiah, Hashum, Bezai,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_19\"><strong>19<\/strong> Hariph, Anathoth, Nebai,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_20\"><strong>20<\/strong> Magpiash, Meshullam, Hezir,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_21\"><strong>21<\/strong> Meshezabel, Zadok, Jaddua,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_22\"><strong>22<\/strong> Pelatiah, Hanan, Anaiah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_23\"><strong>23<\/strong> Hoshea, Hananiah, Hasshub,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_24\"><strong>24<\/strong> Hallohesh, Pilha, Shobek,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_25\"><strong>25<\/strong> Rehum, Hashabnah, Maaseiah,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_26\"><strong>26<\/strong> Ahiah, Hanan, Anan,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_27\"><strong>27<\/strong> Malluch, Harim, Baanah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"verse Neh_10_28\"><strong>28<\/strong><br \/>\nThe rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants, and all who have separated themselves from the peoples of the lands to the Law of God, their wives, their sons, their daughters, all who have knowledge and understanding,<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_29\"><strong>29<\/strong> join with their brothers, their nobles, and enter into a curse and an oath to walk in God&#8217;s Law that was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord and his rules and his statutes.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_30\"><strong>30<\/strong> We will not give our daughters to the peoples of the land or take their daughters for our sons.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_31\"><strong>31<\/strong> And if the peoples of the land bring in goods or any grain on the Sabbath day to sell, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on a holy day. And we will forego the crops of the seventh year and the exaction of every debt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"verse Neh_10_32\"><strong>32<\/strong><br \/>\nWe also take on ourselves the obligation to give yearly a third part of a shekel for the service of the house of our God:<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_33\"><strong>33<\/strong> for the showbread, the regular grain offering, the regular burnt offering, the Sabbaths, the new moons, the appointed feasts, the holy things, and the sin offerings to make atonement for Israel, and for all the work of the house of our God.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_34\"><strong>34<\/strong> We, the priests, the Levites, and the people, have likewise cast lots for the wood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, according to our fathers&#8217; houses, at times appointed, year by year, to burn on the altar of the Lord our God, as it is written in the Law.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_35\"><strong>35<\/strong> We obligate ourselves to bring the firstfruits of our ground and the firstfruits of all fruit of every tree, year by year, to the house of the Lord;<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_36\"><strong>36<\/strong> also to bring to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God, the firstborn of our sons and of our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstborn of our herds and of our flocks;<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_37\"><strong>37<\/strong> and to bring the first of our dough, and our contributions, the fruit of every tree, the wine and the oil, to the priests, to the chambers of the house of our God; and to bring to the Levites the tithes from our ground, for it is the Levites who collect the tithes in all our towns where we labor.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_38\"><strong>38<\/strong> And the priest, the son of Aaron, shall be with the Levites when the Levites receive the tithes. And the Levites shall bring up the tithe of the tithes to the house of our God, to the chambers of the storehouse.<\/span><span class=\"verse Neh_10_39\"><strong>39<\/strong> For the people of Israel and the sons of Levi shall bring the contribution of grain, wine, and oil to the chambers, where the vessels of the sanctuary are, as well as the priests who minister, and the gatekeepers and the singers.
