{"id":1647,"date":"2010-03-15T07:07:54","date_gmt":"2010-03-15T11:07:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=1647"},"modified":"2010-03-19T07:14:44","modified_gmt":"2010-03-19T11:14:44","slug":"hebrews-6","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=1647","title":{"rendered":"Hebrews 6"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/2108.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1648\" title=\"2108\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/2108-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/2108-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/2108.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Text: Hebrews 6\u00a0(English Standard Version)<\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"main_Heb_6\">\n<p><span class=\"verse Heb_6_1\"><strong>1<\/strong> Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_2\"><strong>2<\/strong> and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_3\"><strong>3<\/strong> And this we will do if God permits.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_4\"><strong>4<\/strong> For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_5\"><strong>5<\/strong> and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_6\"><strong>6<\/strong> and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_7\"><strong>7<\/strong> For land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_8\"><strong>8<\/strong> But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"verse Heb_6_9\"><strong>9<\/strong><br \/>\nThough we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things&#8211;things that belong to salvation.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_10\"><strong>10<\/strong> For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_11\"><strong>11<\/strong> And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_12\"><strong>12<\/strong> so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"verse Heb_6_13\"><strong>13<\/strong><br \/>\nFor when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_14\"><strong>14<\/strong> saying, Surely I will bless you and multiply you.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_15\"><strong>15<\/strong> And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, obtained the promise.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_16\"><strong>16<\/strong> For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_17\"><strong>17<\/strong> So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_18\"><strong>18<\/strong> so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_19\"><strong>19<\/strong> We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,<\/span><span class=\"verse Heb_6_20\"><strong>20<\/strong> where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.<\/span><\/p>\n<div><strong>Takeaways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">God desires for us to always be growing and moving towards maturity in Him. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: normal;\">Does my life demonstrate earnestness about the full assurance of hope?
