It\u2019s easy to read the story of King Rehoboam in 2 Chronicles and think \u201cI\u2019d never do that!\u201d He was the grandson of King David and the son of King Solomon and had all this world has to offer at his fingertips. Rather than being a king who honored the Lord and cared well for his people, he chose to do everything he could to elevate his own status and make himself and his family comfortable. He did evil things and he is remembered for those things.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m so grateful for the note in 2 Chronicles 12:14. We must daily choose between the things of this world and the things of the Lord. It\u2019s often a choice between good things and the best thing (always Christ). As a person and as a leader, if I don\u2019t daily set my heart to seek the Lord, I\u2019ll be remembered just like Rehoboam as someone who squandered my gifts, hurt people, and wasted my life.<\/p>\n
