I&#8217;m grateful to be a part of a Christian school that looks at AI through the lens of &#8220;how can we redeem this technology?  how can we make it better?&#8221;.   I recommend <em><a href=\"https:\/\/paulmatthews.ai\/\">A Time to Lead<\/a><\/em> as a great way to distill everything you have been reading and hearing about AI into something that is usable and helpful&#8230;and under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.  AI might prove to be more of a tool than we can imagine at this point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I highlighted several things while reading and have pasted those notes below&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>God has not called us merely to batten down the hatches and try to limit the damage.\u00a0 God has called us to lead. p. 7<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LEAD Framework\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Living under Lordship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engaging Ethically<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adapting Appropriately<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discussing Discerningly p. 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>My deep hope is that, as Christian school communities, we use AI to further our understanding and care for God&#8217;s creation, cultivate curiosity and discernment, and inspire creativity that reflects His glory. p. 10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living Under Lordship\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Living under lordship will give us freedom from fear. p. 15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living under lordship will help us escape from idolatry. p. 16<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Living under lordship helps get the best out of technology.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&#8220;The true challenge&#8230;is not in determining which technologies should be made possible but in determining how those new possibilities are wielded.\u00a0 Thus, Scripture puts the emphasis not on the technology, but on how those innovations are used.&#8221; -Tony Reinke, God, Technology, and the Christian Life (2022) p. 17<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engaging Ethically\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Discern and critique p. 22<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate new technologies with ancient morality. p. 23<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discerning Discussions\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Do not slander others.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep the lordship of Christ central.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage and build up one another.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Acknowledge the difficulty of change.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spur one another on toward love and good deeds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage all to live in fellowship by faith, not fractured by fear.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Honour the efforts of school leaders, teachers, students, and parents.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Seek to bring the Scriptures to bear on our thoughts, words, and circumstances. p 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As Christians, we know that no one operates from a philosophically neutral position.\u00a0 We are all shaped by a set of not-argued-for-but-argued-from assumptions about the world. p. 55<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve read a few articles that Paul Matthews has written on the use of Artificial Intelligence and it has been helpful to learn more about his LEAD framework that really should work no matter the medium.
