\nMessage:<\/strong> An Encounter with God (Week 1)<\/p>\n

An Encounter with God-Isaiah 6:1-7<\/strong>
\n1 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!” 4 And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 And I said: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts!”
\n6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a burning coal that he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for.”<\/em><\/p>\n

v3 An encounter with God reveals His holiness.<\/p>\n

v5 An encounter with God reveals my sinfulness.<\/p>\n

Religion is man’s attempt to explain God. Religion Is flawed because it is created by man.<\/p>\n

The myth of “good enough”
\nPsalm 53:2-3
\n2 God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. 3 They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.<\/em><\/p>\n

Our pride is a joke!
\nIsaiah 64:6
\nWe have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.<\/em><\/p>\n

v7 An encounter with God reveals His love for us.
\nRomans 5:8
\nbut God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Response of Worship-Isaiah 6:8<\/strong>
\nAnd I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Worship begins with a repentant heart.<\/p>\n

Worship responds to the grace of God.<\/p>\n

Worship focuses on the holiness of God.<\/p>\n

Worship is about God. It’s not about us.<\/p>\n
