\u00a0Happy Meal? \u00a0Big Mac? \u00a0Menu Song? \u00a0Hot coffee? \u00a0The Golden Arches? \u00a0No matter what your experience or level of satisfaction is with McDonald&#8217;s, you certainly can&#8217;t argue that the company is world famous. \u00a0I vividly remember several times that I have been travelling in other countries and have spotted the famous Golden Arches. \u00a0It has always been like an oasis of home in the midst of a place where the language and culture might otherwise be completely unfamiliar.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years McDonald&#8217;s has had its share of ups and downs. \u00a0However, the company continues to be committed to being a leader in the fast food industry. \u00a0I really enjoyed reading <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/How-McDonalds-Groove-Back-ebook\/dp\/B0036IODF6\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1288359657&amp;sr=8-1\" target=\"_blank\">How McDonald&#8217;s Got Its Groove Back<\/a>. \u00a0I downloaded it a few weeks ago when Amazon made it available as a free Kindle download. \u00a0Last night I pulled it up on my iPhone and read the entire book in about 25 minutes. \u00a0This book is a part of the New Word City Publishers set of books about remarkable companies. \u00a0I am posting below a list of things I highlighted as I read. \u00a0Great information and business strategies no matter what industry you are in!<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>McDonald\u2019s first reaction was a bid to be everything to everyone\u2014a serious mistake, focused more on the competition than on its own customers.<\/li>\n<li>Five Ps\u201d\u2014people, products, place, price, and promotion<\/li>\n<li>It also showed a far greater concern with the quality of the customer\u2019s overall experience than the company\u2019s original stress on speed and price.<\/li>\n<li>If you\u2019ve got time to lean, you\u2019ve got time to clean.<\/li>\n<li>For any company anywhere in the world it holds true: The deeper management\u2019s understanding of the market, the better the results.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t react to competitors; react to customers.<\/li>\n<li>Make a plan and stick with it.<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t skimp on product development.<\/li>\n<li>When you broaden your market appeal, don\u2019t abandon your first customers.<\/li>\n<li>Be flexible.<\/li>\n<li>Above all, stay tuned to your customers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When you think of when you hear the name McDonald&#8217;s?
