I’ve decided that it is time for me to take a look at Nashville from a different perspective. \u00a0April 30 is a milestone sort of day for me. \u00a0I am going to participate in the Country Music Half Marathon<\/a>. \u00a0I’m pretty psyched about it. \u00a0I will go ahead and state up front that I have no plans to run the whole thing. \u00a0I have had bad arthritis in my hips since high school and it will be quite the feat to accomplish this half marathon by fast walking and running the downhills. \u00a0There aren’t many downhills!<\/p>\n

I have been doing some light training for a couple of weeks now and am planning to ramp things up starting next week. \u00a0Because I recognize my physical limitations, I am very excited about the idea of keeping this goal in front of me as I train for the next 3 months. \u00a0As a leader, I think it is really important to set goals that are difficult to achieve. \u00a0I ask a lot of the folks on my team at school. \u00a0I want to make sure that I am consistently looking for areas in my own life that cause me to dig a little deeper.<\/p>\n

I’m excited about doing this particular race because my brother will be participating also. \u00a0He is definitely doing the half and considering doing the whole marathon. \u00a0It will be a blast to share this memory with him. \u00a0I’ll post updates over the next several weeks. \u00a0Thanks in advance for your prayers…this will be interesting!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
