and this weekend kept that tradition alive.\u00a0 There are a lot of things that I really admire about my little sister, but one of them definitely has to be her creativity in the kitchen.\u00a0 Since Clint was going to be away for part of this weekend, Katie found a recipe that she thought Emma would enjoy making with us&#8230;.Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwiches.\u00a0 Think: Giant Reese Cup with a little crunch&#8230;pure awesomeness!\u00a0 Katie found the recipe on the Picky Palate&#8217;s website <a href=\"http:\/\/picky-palate.com\/2011\/06\/30\/chocolate-peanut-butter-sandwiches-from-disneyland\/\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.\u00a0 The lady that does the Pick Palate website first encountered these on a family trip to Disneyland and set out to recreate them herself.\u00a0 These were so easy to make and they were really good!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?attachment_id=5042\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5042\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5042\" title=\"Chocolate-Peanut-Butter-Sandwich-3\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Chocolate-Peanut-Butter-Sandwich-3-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Chocolate-Peanut-Butter-Sandwich-3-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/Chocolate-Peanut-Butter-Sandwich-3.jpg 475w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<h2>Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwich\u2026Picky Palate\u2019s Version<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>3 cups good quality chopped milk chocolate<\/p>\n<p>4 tablespoons shortening<\/p>\n<p>12 halved graham crackers<\/p>\n<p>2 cups creamy peanut butter<\/p>\n<p>1. \u00a0Melt chocolate and shortening over a double boiler, stirring to melt. \u00a0I use a small saucepan, boil water, reduce heat to low and place a heat proof bowl over the saucepan then add my chocolate, stirring until melted.<\/p>\n<p>2. \u00a0Dip each graham cracker into chocolate and let set up on wax or parchment paper. \u00a0Stick in the freezer for a few minutes to speed this up. \u00a0Spread 2 tablespoons (or a cookie scoopful) of peanut butter over the top of each dipped graham cracker then place in the freezer for 10 more minutes. \u00a0This step is important. \u00a0 While the peanut butter is freezing, remove chocolate from heat and stir, so it cools slightly and thickens up a touch. \u00a0Slowly and carefully spoon melted chocolate over tops and sides of peanut butter. \u00a0This is where the patience and work comes in. \u00a0Use a small spoon working the chocolate around the edges and sides. \u00a0You\u2019ll then use a little plastic knife to run the chocolate around the edges and clean it up a little. \u00a0Let set up, (stick back in the freezer for another 10 minutes) then with a spoon, drizzle chocolate over top to get the \u201clines\u201d you see in the pictures above. \u00a0(If your chocolate is too thick at this point, set it back over the double boiler so it melts a little bit).<\/p>\n<p><strong><\/strong>Makes 12 \u201csandwiches\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My sister Katie was in town this past weekend to hang out for the end of her spring break.\u00a0 We always have a blast with &#8220;Aunt Katie&#8221;
