{"id":5062,"date":"2012-03-22T05:53:27","date_gmt":"2012-03-22T10:53:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=5062"},"modified":"2012-03-20T20:57:13","modified_gmt":"2012-03-21T01:57:13","slug":"book-review-always-know-what-to-say","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=5062","title":{"rendered":"Book Review: Always Know What to Say"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?attachment_id=5063\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5063\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5063\" title=\"150167482\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/150167482.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"391\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/150167482.jpg 300w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/150167482-230x300.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Many people who know me would be shocked to hear that I really struggle with walking up to a stranger to start a conversation.\u00a0 I would be much more comfortable talking to a group of 30,000 people in an arena than to walk up to a perfect stranger to strike up a conversation.\u00a0 However, I am very grateful that my job as a middle and high school principal requires me to do that on a regular basis.\u00a0 I enjoy being stretched in this area.\u00a0 I saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Always-Know-What-Say-ebook\/dp\/B006YTTVHO\/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1332294734&amp;sr=1-1\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Always Know What to Say<\/em><\/a> by Peter Murphy available for free in the Amazon Kindle Store.\u00a0 After reading the book, I can definitely say it was priced correctly.\u00a0 That isn&#8217;t a slam on the book, just a reminder that there are very few new ideas out there.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve copied some things that I highlighted while reading.\u00a0 I hope this will inspire you to be more confident in conversation.\u00a0 It definitely gave me some things to think about.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Know that your happiness does not depend on how someone else responds.<\/li>\n<li>What has been the most life-changing experience you&#8217;ve ever had?<\/li>\n<li>What is the most spontaneous thing you&#8217;ve ever done?<\/li>\n<li>What dream would you most like to make a reality?<\/li>\n<li>From which person have you learned most in your life?<\/li>\n<li>You need questions to keep a conversation going.
