I am so grateful to have grown up with a Mom that sacrificed day in and day out to provide a great life for her three kids.\u00a0 My parents were divorced when I was very little, so my mom played the roles of mom, dad, teacher, coach, encourager, disciplinarian, confidence builder, accountability partner, warden (just kidding…but we did enjoy calling her that), band-aid applier, rescuer from terrible friendship mistakes, cheerleader, and much, much, more!\u00a0 Now that I am a mom myself, I can’t imagine how she did all that with three kids all by herself.\u00a0 I hope that when Emma is my age and is looking back, that she will be able to say she had a great mom too.\u00a0 My mom has set the standard really high…thanks Mom!<\/p>\n

I was so glad to have my mom in town this past weekend to celebrate Mother’s Day.\u00a0 She came Friday afternoon and it was so fun to catch up on the patio at LaParilla before we went to catch a concert at NCCS.\u00a0 The Academy Singers were even more amazing then ever!\u00a0 We woke up Saturday morning all geared up to go out on the boat…but, alas it was rainy and cold.\u00a0 So…we loaded up and headed to Glitzy Chicks and Kohl’s in Acworth hoping the weather would clear up.\u00a0 We ate quick lunch at home and then headed out on the boat.\u00a0 We stayed out for about 3 hours and then it was just too cold, so we headed home.\u00a0 I grilled an applewood smoked turkey tenderlion and asparagus and we had blueberry muffins.\u00a0 Sunday morning we woke up and went to church together and then enjoyed lunch with friends at Parkside Italian Kitchen in Acworth.\u00a0 We had a great time eating, catching up, and just enjoying each other’s company.\u00a0 I’m so glad that my Emma got to have some special time with Mimi!<\/p>\n

Clint and Emma made this a very special Mother’s Day and surprised me with beautiful flowers, two framed pictures (Emma painted one of the frames), sweet cards, and finally…an Emma handprint!\u00a0 We have been trying to do her handprint since she was 1 year old and have ruined about 5 of those plaster things.\u00a0 I was so touched that Clint went to all that trouble to make it work.\u00a0 What a great surprise!\u00a0 I am so grateful for the privilege of being Emma’s mom!<\/p>\n
