{"id":7223,"date":"2013-07-01T16:21:54","date_gmt":"2013-07-01T21:21:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=7223"},"modified":"2013-07-01T16:21:54","modified_gmt":"2013-07-01T21:21:54","slug":"book-review-multiply","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=7223","title":{"rendered":"Book Review: Multiply"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?attachment_id=7224\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-7224\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-7224\" title=\"c11dfb66-5d7c-4df6-aa4c-5536e541d03c\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/c11dfb66-5d7c-4df6-aa4c-5536e541d03c.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"391\" height=\"559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/c11dfb66-5d7c-4df6-aa4c-5536e541d03c.jpg 652w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/c11dfb66-5d7c-4df6-aa4c-5536e541d03c-210x300.jpg 210w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 391px) 100vw, 391px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;From the start, God&#8217;s design has been for every single disciple of Jesus to make disciples who make disciples who make disciples until the gospel spreads to all peoples.&#8221;<\/em> Francis Chan, <em>Multiply<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The greatest burden that God has placed on my heart lately is related to discipleship. \u00a0I was privileged to come to Christ as a 15 year old in the midst of a student ministry that had a strong discipleship program. \u00a0I pray that God will only continue to increase my burden for discipleship. \u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Multiply-Disciples-Making-Francis-Chan\/dp\/0781408237\/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1372712860&amp;sr=1-1&amp;keywords=multiply+francis+chan\" target=\"_blank\">Multiply<\/a><\/em> is a great tool if you truly desire to disciple others and grow in your own discipleship.<\/p>\n<p>I highlighted several things while reading and have pasted them below. \u00a0Do yourself a favor. \u00a0Head over to <a href=\"http:\/\/multiplymovement.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">multiplymovement.com<\/a> and get started.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The goal is to understand what the Bible is saying and allow that truth to transform your thought process and lifestyle.<\/li>\n<li>A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. \u00a0Luke 6:40<\/li>\n<li>Following Jesus is not about diligently keeping a set of rules or conjuring up the moral fortitude to lead good lives. \u00a0It&#8217;s about loving God and enjoying Him.<\/li>\n<li>Being a disciple maker means that you will begin to look at the people in your life differently.<\/li>\n<li>Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly. \u00a01 Peter 5:2<\/li>\n<li>Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. \u00a0Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. \u00a0Hebrews 13:7<\/li>\n<li>The church is a group of redeemed people that live and serve together in such a way that their lives and communities are transformed.<\/li>\n<li>Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. \u00a0Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. \u00a0Bear one another&#8217;s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. \u00a0Galatians 6:1-2<\/li>\n<li>Until our vision of the church encompasses the entire globe, we do not have an accurate view of God&#8217;s church or His plan of redemption.<\/li>\n<li>We are God&#8217;s creations, living in God&#8217;s earth, placed within God&#8217;s plan of redemption. \u00a0May our lives be devoted to His kingdom and His glory.<\/li>\n<li>Genesis begins with a God who existed alone and then spoke all things into existence. \u00a0Revelations ends with this same God reigning eternally over all that He created. \u00a0Every book in between reveals His character and attributes by narrating His sovereign actions throughout history.<\/li>\n<li>If our Bible study is not saturated in prayer, then we are not studying the Bible the way God intends.<\/li>\n<li>Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. \u00a02 Timothy 2:15<\/li>\n<li>I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. \u00a0Genesis 12:2<\/li>\n<li>Nothing matters more than the way we respond to Jesus.<\/li>\n<li>And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. \u00a0Acts 4:12<\/li>\n<li>A church that is devoted to prayer is a church that knows God&#8217;s mission is the most important pursuit on earth.<\/li>\n<li>I will make you a light for the nations, that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth. \u00a0Isaiah 49:6<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;From the start, God&#8217;s design has been for every single disciple of Jesus to make disciples who make disciples who make disciples until the gospel spreads to all peoples.&#8221;
