{"id":758,"date":"2009-03-17T07:10:35","date_gmt":"2009-03-17T12:10:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=758"},"modified":"2009-04-05T23:43:52","modified_gmt":"2009-04-06T03:43:52","slug":"do-i-love-much-because-ive-been-forgiven","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/?p=758","title":{"rendered":"Do I Love Much Because I&#8217;ve Been Forgiven?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/nogreaterlove_1024x768.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-760\" title=\"nogreaterlove_1024x768\" src=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/nogreaterlove_1024x768-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/nogreaterlove_1024x768-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/meganstrange.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/nogreaterlove_1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This passage really hit me in my quiet time yesterday.\u00a0 It is a story of a sinful woman who is forgiven by God.\u00a0 It makes me wonder if I take the forgiveness God has given me and translate that into love for others.<\/p>\n<p>Luke 7:36-50<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"en-NIV-25224\" class=\"versenum\">36<\/sup>Now one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, so he went to the Pharisee&#8217;s house and reclined at the table. <sup id=\"en-NIV-25225\" class=\"versenum\">37<\/sup>When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee&#8217;s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume, <sup id=\"en-NIV-25226\" class=\"versenum\">38<\/sup>and as she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"en-NIV-25227\" class=\"versenum\">39<\/sup>When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, &#8220;If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is\u2014that she is a sinner.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"en-NIV-25228\" class=\"versenum\">40<\/sup>Jesus answered him, &#8220;Simon, I have something to tell you.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Tell me, teacher,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"en-NIV-25229\" class=\"versenum\">41<\/sup>&#8220;Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii,<sup> <\/sup>and the other fifty. <sup id=\"en-NIV-25230\" class=\"versenum\">42<\/sup>Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"en-NIV-25231\" class=\"versenum\">43<\/sup>Simon replied, &#8220;I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled.&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;You have judged correctly,&#8221; Jesus said.<\/p>\n<p><sup id=\"en-NIV-25232\" class=\"versenum\">44<\/sup>Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, &#8220;Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. <sup id=\"en-NIV-25233\" class=\"versenum\">45<\/sup>You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. <sup id=\"en-NIV-25234\" class=\"versenum\">46<\/sup>You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. <sup id=\"en-NIV-25235\" class=\"versenum\">47<\/sup>Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven\u2014for she loved much.
