nothing was more important than being with my daughter.<\/li>\n<li>Living Hands Free does not mean giving up technology altogether, and it does not mean ignoring your job responsibilities, volunteer obligations, or home duties. \u00a0Living Hands Free means making a conscious decision to temporarily push aside distractions and give your undivided attention to someone or something meaningful in your life.<\/li>\n<li>Rachel\u2019s Definition of Daily Distraction includes anything that<br \/>\ntakes the focus off what truly matters<br \/>\nprevents me from being fully present<br \/>\nstops me from investing time and energy in people I love<br \/>\nhinders my ability to slow down, relax, or get adequate sleep<br \/>\nholds me back from enjoying life, taking risks, and being my authentic self<\/li>\n<li>What are you going to do to ensure that you are grasping the moments that matter today so you don\u2019t live with regret tomorrow?<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;The most precious gift we can offer others is our presence. \u00a0When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will bloom like flowers.\u201d \u00a0Thich Nhat Hanh<\/li>\n<li>What might be the long-term impact on this relationship if you do not curb your distracted ways?<\/li>\n<li>&#8220;At least three times every day take a moment and ask yourself what is really important. \u00a0Have the wisdom and the courage to build your life around your answer.\u201d \u00a0Dr. Lee Jampolsky<\/li>\n<li>Living distracted causes you to miss priceless moments of connection that cannot be retrieved. \u00a0Living Hands Free, on the other hand, allows you to experience the joy that comes from being fully engaged with others.<\/li>\n<li>The memories my children carry with them into adulthood are largely up to me. \u00a0In the everyday routines of life, I have the power to provide my children with countless loving memories of human connection. \u00a0I also have the ability to leave my children with a scarce supply of meaningful moments together.<\/li>\n<li>We can\u2019t see the future. \u00a0We can\u2019t predict how all those special nightly tuck-ins or\u00a0family traditions are going to add up\u2026or can we?<\/li>\n<li>The time you invest in the people you love will always add up to something that matters.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cThere is more to life than simply increasing its speed.\u201d \u00a0Mahatma Gandhi<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0truth hurts, but the truth heals\u2014and brings me closer to the parent I want to be.<\/li>\n<li>By routinely making yourself available to the people who matter to you, you offer a dependable and constant source of love and support. \u00a0When faced with moments of joy and uncertainty, your loved ones will know right where to find you.<\/li>\n<li>Make the most of\u00a0each and every day. \u00a0Relish the blessings in my life. \u00a0Take nothing for granted.<\/li>\n<li>If not today, then when?<\/li>\n<li>\u201cYou can do anything, but not everything.\u201d \u00a0David Allen<\/li>\n<li>Does the amount of time and attention I currently offer to my child convey that she is a \u00a0top priority in my life? \u00a0Where do I invest the bulk of my\u00a0time and energies? \u00a0Are these activities fulfilling to me?<\/li>\n<li>Does my current schedule allow for time spent simply being with my child? \u00a0Do I have any extracurricular commitments or time-wasting distractions that I could eliminate in order to spend a few minutes of special time each day with my child?<\/li>\n<li>Come as you are and live.<\/li>\n<li>When you\u2019re tuned into what really matters, the sound of happiness\u00a0triumphs over\u00a0perfect chords. \u00a0Let joyful imperfection be the\u00a0chorus of our lives.<\/li>\n<li>Letting go of past mistakes is an integral part of the Hands Free journey because it allows the gifts of the present day to become more apparent.<\/li>\n<li>When the collisions of life are upon me, I look at my children\u2019s faces and remember what I say and do in that\u00a0moment might very well be with them forever.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cNormal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. \u00a0Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. \u00a0Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.\u201d \u00a0Mary Jean Irion<\/li>\n<li>The choices I make matter. \u00a0The choices I make are critical. \u00a0The choices I make mean\u00a0everything.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
