August for the Strange crew is a time where school ramps up\u2026.but we don\u2019t give up on summer just yet! \u00a0We started off August with a night at the Strand Theater in Marietta Square. \u00a0Emma and I went with two special friends to see High School Musical at the Strand starring 3 of our favorite NCCS theater students! \u00a0The show was great and the evening was a blast! \u00a0As Emma gets older, these special mommy\/Emma outings are becoming such a treasure for me!<\/p>\n

Eli is growing up so quickly and coming up with all kinds of hilarious things to keep us laughing. \u00a0It\u2019s amazing how much he has picked up since he moved here. \u00a0He really cracked us all up early one Saturday morning when his milk cup was on the floor in the kitchen. \u00a0Rather than bending down to pick it up to drink out of\u2026he just bent down and drank out of it without ever picking it up. \u00a0I\u2019m sure he thought we were crazy when we asked him to keep doing it! \u00a0Eli is getting so good at picking things up and communicating what he wants. \u00a0He is getting better at following directions and still absolutely adores his sister. \u00a0The feeling is mutual as Emma continues to dote on him and make sure he is covered with hugs and kisses at all times. \u00a0She is lightning fast going up and down the stairs to grab things for Eli\u2026and sometimes to grab Eli! \u00a0He is a quick little guy for sure!<\/p>\n

Emma is still super interested in hairstyles, Rainbow Loom creations, and YouTube craft videos. \u00a0She still loves golf, cheerleading, gymnastics, and trying to ride her bike. \u00a0We found a great deal on a little balance bike and are hoping that will help her bike confidence grow. \u00a0In the end, she is much more excited about driving a car in 10 years than she currently is about riding her bike!<\/p>\n

Our family finally visited the Terminus WakePark up in Emerson, GA one Sunday afternoon in August. \u00a0We went and watched for a couple of hours. \u00a0The next day, Clint, Emma, and I met up there right after school one day and decided to give it a try before we had to pick up Eli. \u00a0We loved it and can’t wait to go back! \u00a0Emma got up on her very first try!<\/p>\n

August 6 brought the first day of K5 for Emma. \u00a0She was so excited! \u00a0This is going to be a great year and we continue to be so grateful that God has provided her the opportunity to grow up at North Cobb Christian School. \u00a0We never take for granted the amazing godly men and women that pour into her life on a daily basis through a variety of activities at NCCS. \u00a0The first day of school provided several great picture opportunities\u20266 weeks later, the year is still off to a great start!<\/p>\n

We spent lots of our weekends at birthday parties and other social functions aimed towards almost 6 and almost 2 year olds and we wouldn\u2019t have it any other way! \u00a0We ended up with a good bit of both lake and pool time this month also. \u00a0Emma is getting so much better on the tube with the boat and she and Eli are both still having a blast with the pool. \u00a0We still wish that they\u2019d both be a little more scared of things! \u00a0God has certainly given both of our kids an adventurous spirit and it is a blast to watch!<\/p>\n

Our family continues to love Cedarcrest Church and the opportunity we have to serve and grow as a family there. \u00a0We are in an excellent series right now about the body of Christ and what it means to be a part of a church. \u00a0Awesome discussions have come from our time of worship each Sunday morning. \u00a0We are also so grateful to have a lot of our special NCCS friends that attend Cedarcrest with us. \u00a0God has blessed us with a lot of families that we enjoy spending time with between school, church, and our neighborhood!<\/p>\n

The biggest news of August\u2026Eli is officially a southerner! \u00a0The Paulding County courts made it official on August 27\u2026Eli is completely adopted as far as the United States is concerned. \u00a0We don\u2019t have a pic from that because Eli wasn\u2019t even with us. \u00a0They told us there could be a long wait, so he went on to school while we officially adopted him and changed his name. \u00a0To God be the glory for the amazing things He is doing in our family and in the life of our son!<\/p>\n
