Emma: August 2011

We had a great August around our house!  It was hot, but that didn’t slow us down.  We spent lots of days at the lake, several evenings at the pool, fun times at the new Yogli Mogli by our house, and of course…lots of good times at North Cobb Christian School now that school is back in session.

Emma is really getting great at using our iPhones and iPad to pull up movies or funny pictures.  She doesn’t watch a lot of TV or movies, but she will watch for a few minutes at at time when she is trying to rest.  We took Emma tubing for the first time this month and she loved it.  She kept wanting to go faster!

As each day passes, we learn more and more about our sweet girl’s personality.  She has a funny sense of humor, an awesome laugh, and tons of creative ideas about things.  One of her favorite things to do is march around the house with a pen and a pad and shout out “What do you want?”  When you give her your order, she will storm into her little play kitchen and start cooking up a storm!

Since school is back in session, we see a lot of our friends more often and we have started having our Friday night football games and dinners out again.  Emma loves going to the football games and other activities at school since she has so many of her little friends there.  Emma loves to help with everything that we are doing.  She and Clint had a great time together when I was gone for the NCCS Fall Retreats.  They went out to eat and played a lot!

One of my favorite things that has developed about Emma in these past few months is her desire to pray.  She loves to pray for our family before meals and at bedtime.  In the last several weeks, we have been able to share a few things to pray for and she does a great job remembering to pray for those needs.  Emma loves to sing and dance and does everything 100 miles an hour.  She is a joy and Clint and I are so blessed to have such a sweet little girl!
