This passage in Zechariah 13 taken out of context can seem harsh. When read in context with the grand narrative of God’s plan and provision for His people, it’s a passage demonstrating yet again that our Heavenly Father is gracious and kind.
Reading Scripture helps keep my head and heart aligned with what is true. God goes to such great lengths to put me back together. I’m a mess and He knows that. He created me and I’m an image bearer of Christ…that’s why He refines me.
God is faithful. He is working.
