July 2 | KENNESAW MOUNTAIN | Last night at dinner, Emma said “Mom, what do you want to do on your last week off?” I think I surprised the crew when I suggested getting up early to hike Kennesaw Mountain. Let’s just say that we weren’t in full agreement about how fun that would be until we actually got to the top. 🤪
In the end, we had a blast and were blessed with some cool weather and breezes. This is the first time we’ve thought to get up early and do this before the heat of the day 😂. Much more enjoyable!
Breakfast afterwards @honeysucklebiscuitsandbakery as their reward kept the crew motivated. I’ll take time with my people anytime and anywhere. Grateful. #7000days #StrangeSummer24
July 4 | HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY 🇺🇸 | Super fun couple of days with friend and family cooking out, swimming, pickleball, fireworks, hanging at the lake, and celebrating our freedom with the whole City of Acworth. So much to be grateful for! #7000days
July 6 | BE A GOOD TEAMMATE | One of our Strange family values is to be a good teammate. This summer our little guy has really stepped up. He’s decided he wants to know “how to do things”. We are seeing him move from a boy to a young man in the way he wants to be counted on and the contributions he is making to our family. He takes seriously the tasks of taking care of a home. Just ask the rest of our family about his new rules for the outside trash cans he is in charge of 😂 Our Eli keeps us laughing, but it’s also a joy to watch him growing in responsibility. #7000days @clintstrange32
July 13 | TRI THE PARKS | Another super fun outing with our friends @tritheparks! This weekend we were up at Richard B. Russell State Park in Elberton. We love serving with this team as we see so many athletes accomplish big goals, try new things, and overcome obstacles. Some athletes come out every race and many athletes finished their first race! The 3:30am wake up call takes some getting used to…but it’s ALWAYS worth it in the end! #7000days
July 14 | PRAYER WALK | I love walking through our city of Acworth early in the morning. It’s my absolute favorite way to start the day when I have time. After the events of last night in our country, today’s walk became a prayer walk.
There is so much beauty to focus on in the early morning…especially in our town! I tend to take pictures of the same things over and over because I don’t get tired of looking at them. This morning the sunrise was beautiful, the clouds were interesting, and the air was a few degrees cooler. And Jesus is Lord of it all!
Today was a chance to pray for our country, our leaders, and most of all for the people in our country that are swirling in this whirlwind. Genesis 3 was the beginning of all of this. Sin leads to brokenness. And we know that things won’t be put back together until Revelation 21 when there is a new heaven and a new earth. It feels like something isn’t right…it’s not. This is not how things are supposed to be, but there is hope to be found.
My heart breaks for our country and the things we see unfolding in front of us. In those moments, I have to intentionally put my mind’s attention and heart’s affection on what I know to be true.
God is faithful. He is working.
Colossians 1:17
And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
John 16:33
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
July 29 | BRING IT ON | The day started with a prayer walk through the building and over the spaces where our incredible faculty and staff invest in their students. Then…a variety of meetings, discussions, a very exciting mapmaking competition, lunch by Flik and our awesome PTF, nuts and bolts planning time, and fun conversations catching up with our team.
Then we wrapped up the evening with a packed house at Upper School Parent Orientation. @NCCSEagles community, God has INCREDIBLE things in store for all of us! Let’s pray, encourage, and support each other and see what God can do. Let’s Go Eagles!
July 31 | HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE! | Special day today as we celebrate the gift that @clintstrange32 is to our family and all who know him. The Lord blessed us immeasurably when He made Clint. My man is godly, strong, caring, thoughtful, helpful, funny, and kind. He will do anything for anyone…always thinking of others first. Clint is so easy to celebrate and brings so much joy to our family. We are so thankful for him and love him dearly!
