As we approach the holidays, many of you will have the opportunity to go to the movies as a family.  It is always a difficult choice to know which movie to pick.  There is a movie coming out on Friday, November 20 that would be a great one for NCCS families to check out.  The movie is called The Blindside and is the true story of Michael Oher, a first round NFL draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens.

Oher was adopted by a family that is very involved in Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis, Tennessee.  He bounced around from school to school and home to home until this family took him in and made him their own.  Briarcrest came alongside the family and Michael in order to support them and make sure he had the best possible chance to realize his God-given potential academically and in the area of athletics.  Michael went on to graduate from Briarcrest, become an All-American football player and graduate from Ole Miss, and get drafted by the Baltimore Ravens.

This movie has the potential to really spotlight Christian education and draw a huge audience since it stars Tim McGraw, Sandra Bullock, and Kathy Bates.  Let’s send Hollywood a message and make this one of the most popular movies of the holiday season!  Invite some friends to join you as you go and see The Blindside.
