Strange Family Adventures | June 2020

We kicked off the month of June after driving back from a great weekend in Memphis.  We went to Memphis to help my Mom with a few things and to spend time with my sister and her family.  Precious moments for sure!  My mom was in the process of selling her condo and we hit the jackpot with lots of great things!  One of the most fun things she gave us was all of her plants and flowers that she has worked so hard to grow over the years.  Instant upgrade on the landscaping and decorations at the Strange house!  Eli also scored a new big boy bed and we all picked up several fun things in her downsizing.  What a blast to enjoy these things and think of my Mom.  She’s coming to visit in a few weeks…pray with us that the flower and plants aren’t dead by then!!

June 5 we were so happy to host our Cedarcrest Lifegroup at the house.  We had several families and their kids over for dinner and just a time to hang out.  We lit the fire-it, played outside, and just enjoyed being together.  Our Lifegroup has been such a blessing to our family in this season!  We also continued to attend church online each Sunday.  We missed being together with our church family, but we will never forget the precious days of gathering in our living room to worship as a family.

June continued to be different than usual as COVID-19 restrictions continued.  We have had a blast continuing several projects around our house.  Clint made some INCREDIBLE Adirondack chairs that all of our friends are raving over!  Emma has continued baking…much to Eli’s delight…well, all of us love her baking! Eli and I had the privilege of doing lots of pressure washing.  It looks great and we had lots of fun doing it!

Clint and I went on a date night with some precious friends.  We hit up Mod Pizza for dinner and then shot guns at Governor’s Gun Club.  At that point we were having such a great time, we decided to extend the fun and head over to Dairy Queen.  God has blessed us with this couple who have been such an encouragement and source of accountability over the last several years.  There is no greater gift to a marriage than dear friends in the same season of life who also desire to point their family to Jesus!

Emma and Eli enjoyed a few days of soccer camp up at Lakepoint with one of Emma’s school soccer coaches.  Emma and Eli also went to basketball camp at NCCS.  Eli went to Camp Eagle and enjoying “normal” things like water day, snack time, and hanging out with friends.  We spent evenings in the park with friends and neighbors and played outside like we haven’t done in years.

I had the privilege of heading up to Blue Ridge for a couple of days with the precious ladies from our Lifegroup.  We have gathered throughout the quarantine on Monday evenings…first in camp chairs in the church parking lot…and now for dinner at Pablano’s.  These ladies are prayer warriors and dear sisters in Christ.  Our time away was so good for my soul!

The best part of the summer?  June 27 the Strange fam loaded up and headed to Hilton Head, South Carolina for a week away.  I didn’t realize how much we needed it until the week was over.  We treasured every moment!  Here was my instagram post at the end of the week…
GRATEFUL Special week away with the most precious people in my life. At dinner last night, @clintstrange32 and I agreed that this was one of the most unrushed and laid back vacations we can remember. We needed that!
Long walks. Alternating between the pool and beach. Bike rides. Morning walks. Evening walks. Ice cream everyday. Reading. Sunshine. Meeting new friends. Lots of great food. Most importantly, time together.
Thank you Lord for this time away to rest, reflect, and remember your goodness to our family. #7000days
