Strange Family Adventures | March 2022

March 1 GRATEFUL | I’m so grateful for a precious third grade Sunday School teacher @cedarcrestchurch that pursues the heart of our little wild man. Even when his choices got him in some trouble in Sunday School this past week, Eli knows Mrs. Sherri, Mr. Tim, and Mrs. Cori love him dearly and want God’s best for his life. You better believe he’s working on that JAM time sheet this week. He wants to show Mrs. Sherri! #BodyOfChrist #ChristianFellowship

March 2 EAGLES FLY TOGETHER | The scoreboard didn’t end up like we hoped tonight for our beloved @NCCSEagles Varsity Boys Basketball team. We did our best to cheer them on, but we fell just short of the win. Never fun to lose.

Some big boys will go to bed tonight with disappointed hearts. The 9 year old in my home is sad we lost, but today was one of his favorite days of the year. Before school, he got to rebound for Albert Wilson, Region Player of the Year. Our Eli LOVES basketball. He watches it constantly in person and even got a cool Curry jersey for Christmas. But, who does he want to be like? Eli wants to be like Albert, Jack, Tremain, Josh, Jacob, CJ, Graham, Chris, etc. Those are the guys he looks up to and I couldn’t be more thrilled with that.

In the good and the disappointing, #EaglesFlyTogether. Off-season begins tomorrow.

March 5 COACH K | I was a huge @dukembb fan in the 90’s. Most everyone was! 5 Final Fours and 2 National Championships. Back in October 2013, I traveled to North Carolina with two friends for a conference. We skipped an afternoon session to check out Duke and UNC. We found the doors of Cameron Indoor Stadium were unlocked, so we helped ourselves to a behind the scenes tour. Hallowed ground for sure!

HUGE Congratulations to Coach K on an incredible career coaching basketball and investing in young men. It’s quite a testimony to his influence in their lives that 96 former players are expected at the game in Durham today. Thanks Karen and Wendy for always being up for a good old fashioned shenanigan. As the world tunes in to the game tonight, that’s what I’ll be thinking of! #Duke #CoachK

March 5 ACWORTH DODGERS | Beautiful night for the Acworth Dodgers season opener. Our favorite guy was on the mound for his first ever game of kid pitch. Always fun to see our kids try new things. Great team effort. Eli had fun and learned a lot. #7000days #PlayLikeWalker #AcworthBaseball @acworthbaseball

March 20 BRACKETOLOGY | This is the first year that Eli has done a bracket, so all 4 Stranges are all in for #MarchMadness. Lots of family bonding over these brackets! #GoDuke

March 28 COSTA RICA 🇨🇷 | We are headed out to get started on our project for the week. Our team is blessed to be able to build a home for Katherine. She is working hard to provide for her 4 young children and we hope to ease her burden a bit this week by ensuring they have a roof over their heads. Our devotions this morning from Ephesians 4 remind us of the blessing of Christian community to encourage, equip, and empower us for the calling God has placed on each of us.

We are so thankful for Mrs. Wilczyznski’s 3rd grade class @NCCSEagles! They are our prayer partners for this trip and they sent us with letters of encouragement and prayers over our team. We love this special partnership with our Lower School!
