STRANGE FAMILY ADVENTURES | SEPTEMBER 2023

September 1

COLLEGE FOOTBALL FRIDAY | Here are a few snaps of some of the best and brightest…Bama fans in the Upper School @NCCSEagles. Always a blast to show our allegiance before the season kicks off! Swipe for a fun flashback from 6 years ago. #RollTide

September 2

ROLL TIDE | Pretty much a perfect day in Titletown with my favorite Strange people. We had a leisurely day visiting some favorite Tuscaloosa spots before heading to the stadium to watch warmups before the game. The people watching was exquisite…as it always is…and the Crimson Tide were dominant…as they always are. So grateful for time away with my favorites cheering on the Tide. #BamaForever #RollTide @alabamafbl

THE GOOD SHEPHERD | Grateful for this reminder in Ezekiel 34 this morning. I am totally a sheep in so many ways…wandering too and fro and missing the point so often. Thank you Lord for your gentle pursuit and faithful rescue time and again. This is such a refreshing passage in the midst of a hard book that points to the love of the Lord and also demonstrates the justice of the Lord. No one is too far gone. I’m thankful today for a Savior who pursues me.

God is faithful. He is working.

MAN CAMP | I so appreciate how intentional @clintstrange32 is with including Eli in different chores he is working on. Clint decided it’s silly to spend so much money on oil changes when he can do it himself! So…he and Eli headed out to get the job done. Eli is a willing sidekick, but he’s also eager to know “what’s for dinner.” 😂😂💪🏾💪🏾 #7000days

JOHN MICHAEL RITCHEY | 8 years ago this friend and teammate stepped into the presence of Jesus. The way that he loved Jesus and loved people still resonates today in so many ways @NCCSEagles and beyond. I’m so grateful for the life and gospel investment of @jmritchey. We miss him terribly, but can’t wait to see him again for all of eternity! Well done my friend! #TellAGoodStory #LoveGodLovePeople I shared some thoughts about JM’s impact on my life in a post after he passed away. https://meganstrange.com/?p=9452

TIMOTHY PROGRAM | I’m so grateful for the opportunities our “big kids” have to pour into younger students. Our @nccsstudentlife and counseling team do an awesome job putting the Timothy Program together each year.

Upper School students are paired with Lower or Middle School students for the purpose of mentorship and gospel friendship. Emma is so excited to invest in one of our young friends.

Fun fact, the girl Emma is mentoring is the daughter of Emma’s @nccseagles Upper School small group leader. What a picture of gospel investment! Another reason why #WeLoveNCCS! #GoEagles #WeAreNCCS #NCCSFamily #40YearsOfNCCS #40YearsOfFamily

GO EAGLES! | Crazy fun evening of cheering on Eli and his 5th/6th grade @nccseagles football teammates in their win at home over St. Francis. Then…our Varsity Softball team picked up two wins at home over KIPP Atlanta and Varsity Volleyball won two at home over Wheeler and Mt. Pisgah and celebrated senior night.

Closed out the evening cheering on Emma and her teammates in the start of the Cobb County Championship. They beat Wheeler and then beat Mt. Paran in 2 straight at MP. So proud of the way the ladies are playing together!

Such a treat to cheer on the Strange kids and all my other favorite Eagles all afternoon and evening! Let’s Go Eagles and GOOD NIGHT! #GoEagles #WeAreNCCS #NCCSFamily #40YearsOfNCCS #40YearsOfFamily

REFINER’S FIRE | This passage in Zechariah 13 taken out of context can seem harsh. When read in context with the grand narrative of God’s plan and provision for His people, it’s a passage demonstrating yet again that our Heavenly Father is gracious and kind.

Reading Scripture helps keep my head and heart aligned with what is true. God goes to such great lengths to put me back together. I’m a mess and He knows that. He created me and I’m an image bearer of Christ…that’s why He refines me.

God is faithful. He is working.

TOWARDS REST | Great read for Fall Break. God didn’t design us to be human “doings”, He designed us to be human “beings.” #Tetelestai God has completed the work. May we find our rest in Him. @alabaster_co

LIVE SENT | So much fun this week with our dear friends @timemissions building a chapel so that people in the DR can find their way HOME. We do this with the support of our church family @nsckennesaw that helps us Love God, Love People, and Live Sent. Will you pray for us as we take this chapel on the road tomorrow to construct it in a nearby community so that people who are far from God can experience life in Christ? Please pray that the pastor and Christians in his congregation would be encouraged and emboldened to share their faith and welcome many to come to worship and study God’s word in this place. We have worked hard. We have eaten well. We’ve laughed A LOT! Excited about what God has in store for tomorrow. Live Sent! 🇩🇴

September 29

LIVE SENT | Special thanks to all of our friends @timemissions for sharing their strong arms, backs, and jokes as well as the prayers and encouragement of friends back home @nsckennesaw, the chapel is up and ready for worship! This is a 600 square foot chapel gifted from @nsckennesaw to Pastor Feliciano Lacen Custodio and his congregation. Pastor Feliciano is a church planter that has helped many churches get started here in the DR. He was recently re-elected as the President of The Dominican Council of Evangelical Unity. Many more pictures to follow…but for today, we celebrate.

God is working. He is faithful.

Live Sent.

ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN | Grateful for a week of Living Sent with our @nsckennesaw and @timemissions friends and family joining together to point to Jesus.

The Strange family will never be the same.

Numbers 6:24-26 The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace.
