Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12). If we are in Christ, His light is in us (Matthew 5:14-16). This world is a mess, that’s no secret…in fact, everything after Genesis 3 is simply broken and won’t ever be right until Jesus returns. But, until then…Jesus has called Christ followers to be “the light of the world.”

Is there something different about our lives? Is there a hope that seems out of the ordinary? Is there a peace that passes all understanding? Are we caring for others in a way that points to a different purpose?

Lest I miss the point, the light isn’t to be a spotlight on me. I’m behind the light to illuminate Christ alone…to point to Him. “let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)

God is working. He is faithful. Go light the world.
