OCTOBER 3 | Super excited about Homecoming for these sweet friends! #7000days
OCTOBER 8 | HABITS + DISCIPLESHIP | Our precious Eli does not have a phone. And, I’d love to push that off as far as we can…even though he says he is the “only kid in the world” that doesn’t have one. He started strong with the online Bible plan our family was doing until we realized that him logging into a device was leading to more distractions than discipleship…so we mixed it up this month.
Each morning he came into the kitchen to find a notecard next to his Bible with a pen and a chapter of John written on it. He read the day’s chapter and wrote out a takeaway…a verse that stood out, something the Lord showed him, or something he wanted to remember.
And this morning he did his 21st card for the book of John. That completes the book. I’ve always heard that it takes 21 days to form an effective habit, so if you are looking to start a daily practice of reading the Bible…borrow Eli’s Bible study method and see if the Lord might have some things to teach you.
Tomorrow, he starts Romans. #7000days @clintstrange32
OCTOBER 10 | HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS | Today is world mental health day. As Christ followers, we know that we were designed by God and made in His image. We were also made to be in fellowship and relationship with God and with one another. I’m so thankful that we had a chance today in the Upper School @nccseagles to pull over and look at Healthy Relationships and how Romans 12 helps shape those. My friend and teammate Janelle Rupp did an amazing job walking us through this passage and helping us learn how to make some choices to live in healthy relationships with one another.
Romans 12:1-2
-A body that worships
-A mind that is transformed
-A will that is discerning
Romans 12:3-8
-Pursue humility pursue unity
OCTOBER 11 | BACK2BACK AREA CHAMPS | Super fun to celebrate our @nccseagles Volleyball Back-to-Back Area Championship today! These girls and coaches have worked super hard this season and been great teammates for each other. Excited to get going in the state tournament! Let’s Go Lady Eagles! 🦅 #7000days
OCTOBER 18 | JUNIOR SEASON | We had a great time cheering on Emma and her Varsity Volleyball teammates this season @nccseagles. These young ladies and their coaches grew in all kinds of ways individually and collectively. They played a tough non-regional schedule, won the region championship (back2back), and finished up by playing in the Sweet Sixteen of the GHSA State Playoffs. More than anything, we love what team sports can do for kids. We love winning, but winning is most fun when our kids are learning what it means to be a great teammate and to sacrifice your own plans for the good of the team. Grateful for these opportunities. In particular, I’m super proud of our girl as she pressed through a really painful injury these last couple of weeks. Let’s Go Lady Eagles! #7000days
OCTOBER 18 | 7TH GRADE FOOTBALL | Grateful for another fun season for Eli and his buddies. They finished as the runner up in Metro 10. Lots of growth for our guy this year…physically for sure…but more importantly, as a teammate and looking out for his brothers on the team. In a big win or a disappointing loss, the car conversations always centered on great choices that his teammates made to help the team and how they could be even better teammates for each other in the next game. I’m so grateful for the coaches that invested in these guys. Football is a sport that builds men. Coaches at this level certainly have to have a long view of where all this is heading and I’m grateful that ours have that view! We love cheering on our Eagles…anytime, anywhere. Let’s Go Eagles! 🦅
OCTOBER 18 | MY GUY 💙 | Most nights and weekends these days have a lot going on with a very active family. We are so grateful for this season! Eli is at a church retreat this weekend and Emma came up with plans with friends last night, so I got to go out with Clint and it was such a fun evening! We ate Mexican and chatted about life. We went shopping and bumped into friends. We picked up groceries. Then we came home. Next month will be 24 years since I first met Clint…and when I started dreaming about non-fancy evenings of just spending time together. Perfect way to kick off the weekend in the midst of a busy season!
This pic is from Thursday night at school when Clint got to play his banjo with the Academy Singers for their annual Night at the Opry. The show opened with the awesome kids singing happy birthday to me. We squeezed in this pic between helping teardown the show and set the room back up for lunch the next day. Living the dream…truly!
OCTOBER 24 | HOMECOMING WEEK 2025 | What a week of celebrating God’s faithfulness in and through North Cobb Christian School. It was a fun and full week. So grateful for the community we enjoy and the privilege to cheer each other on! May we never lose sight of the fact that we are all truly just “walking each other home.”
God is faithful. He is working. #7000days
OCTOBER 25 | HOMECOMING AT GEORGIA TECH | Our guys had a blast down on the Flats cheering on the Undefeated Yellow Jackets against Syracuse. It was a beautiful day for football and making memories! #7000days
OCTOBER 25 | NCCS HOMECOMING DANCE 2025 | So grateful for such a special group of friends for Emma to celebrate Homecoming 2025 with! She and Gram had a blast with their friends taking pictures, eating dinner, and hanging out before the dance. They had a great time dancing the night away at Homecoming and made a lot of fun memories! I’ll also mention that the dance had a pretty awesome group of chaperones. We were all up past our bed time, but it was so fun to see the kids enjoying themselves. That’s officially a wrap on Homecoming 2025! #7000days
