Success v Significance

Today I started reading Fascinating Stories of Forgotten Lives by Chuck Swindoll.  I’m only a few pages in, but this is a great book already!  I’ve always been a Swindoll fan and particularly enjoyed his books on Elijah and Joseph.  This book is focused on the folks in the Bible that aren’t quite as famous as Moses, Paul, Joseph, Esther, Daniel, etc.  They are people that truly matter…just not that famous.

Swindoll poses two key questions for the reader to consider as they jump into this book…

  • Would you rather be a person of significance or a person of renown?
  • Which is more important to you: the quality of your impact on the world or the size of it?

Lots to think about…can you answer these questions in light of God’s calling on your life?
