Emma: July 2011

We have made the most of every moment of this month with our sweet Emma!  She is definitely a summer girl.  This past month has been full of visits to the pool, days on the lake, baseball games, a wonderful visit to Memphis, cooking with Aunt Katie, blowing bubbles with Uncle Kevin, catching up with great-grandma, riding bikes, eating out, cooking new things at home, washing dishes, eating watermelon, and…Emma’s first bus ride on an NCCS bus!

Emma has the funniest sense of humor and keeps Clint and I laughing all the time.  She is very focused on making sure she has on the right pair of flipflops for her outfit.  She also loves her “cak u lator” that our good friend, the NCCS Business Manager gave her.  Every night before bed, Emma wants to read “Good Night Gorilla” and “Llama Llama Red Pajama”.  My favorite part is when the zookeeper is saying goodnight to the hyena in his cage.  Emma always says “Goodnight Hynena”.  She also really focuses on the armadillo.

Pottytraining is going great.  Emma only wears a pullup at night while she is asleep.  Most mornings she wakes up with a dry pullup and we celebrate like crazy.  Emma loves to play with her dressup clothes and shoes all the time.

The last weekend of July we went to Nashville to celebrate Clint’s birthday.  He attended a conference all day on Saturday and Emma and I spent the whole day together.  We had a great time going to our first consignment sale!  From there we went to LifeWay so I could pick up some books.  When I glanced over at her, she had put on the headphones at one of their listening stations and was dancing like crazy…what a riot!  Later that evening we met up with my brother Kevin to have Clint’s birthday dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory in downtown Nashville.  They seated us in the train car and Emma was psyched to get to “ride on the choo choo”.

Here are some pictures from July 2011.  Can you believe how big Emma is getting??!!
