Book Review: Bonhoeffer Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.
-Dietrich Bonhoeffer

I have had this book sitting on the shelf in my office for several weeks.  I can’t imagine sitting down and reading it cover to cover.  Instead, I have chosen to read it in sections.  I still have a bit to go before it is finished.  The Cost of Discipleship by Bonhoeffer radically changed my thinking on what it means to truly follow Christ.  To now read such a compelling story of Bonhoeffer in his roles as pastor, martyr, prophet, and spy has been a great adventure.  I’d encourage you to pick up a copy of this book at your first chance.
