Emma continues to be such a delight and treasure to Clint and me. April started off with a great opportunity for some fun family time as the Strange 3 headed to Destin for four awesome days of hanging out, swimming, resting, eating good food, and enjoying every second together. I am so grateful that God allows us these sweet family times! One of the days that we were at the beach, Clint was working for part of the day and Emma and I went to the beach just the two of us. I pray that she and I will always be close and look forward to times like that!
We returned from the beach just in time for Emma to have her first ever dental appointment. We went to a pediatric dentist near our house and it was a great experience. They made it so fun…in fact, whenever we drive by, Emma asks if we can stop and see her dentist! The dentist had Emma wear sunglasses while he was looking at her teeth due to the bright light. Now, at home, Emma wears sunglasses when Clint uses the flosser on her teeth…just like at the dentist!
Emma and I spent our last day of Spring Break getting pedicures together at the “nail lady place.” The lady was so sweet to Emma and painted her toenails really cute. She had a great time. I don’t get many pedicures, but I will definitely take Emma along the next time I go. What a fun memory! The following Sunday was Easter and we had a great time of worship at church followed by a fun visit with Clint’s mom and stepdad. Emma loves her Easter dress and would wear it everyday if we let her!
We joined the Atlanta Zoo back over Thanksgiving break during our family staycation. They had a new member day one Saturday in April and we had such a great time riding the train and the carousel (4 times) before checking out all the animals and playing on the playground. We wrapped up our trip to the city with lunch at Tin Lizzy’s Cantina by Grant Park. What a fun day!
Our neighborhood did a community cleanup day the last Saturday of the month. I was tied up with a school activity, so Clint and Emma worked together and Emma was really helpful! The next morning our family got up early to participate in the Coach Jay 5K. The race was in memory of an incredible guy who was killed in a running accident. His daughter goes to my school and the race was to support their family. It was freezing, but we had a great time. Our hope and prayer is that Emma will grow up with a heart that desires to serve others as a result of the example we have set for her.
April was a great month and May is off to an awesome start. So grateful that God has blessed us with our sweet daughter. Lately she tells everyone that she is turning 4. She never mentions that her birthday is almost 7 months away! But..we are reminded that the years go by fast and we are trying to make the most of every moment.
Here are some fun pics from April…
