Emma and Eli: February 2019

February came and went quickly!  After the holidays of the last few months…it was so great to just get into a routine!
This year I decided to do something fun that my Mom shared with me from Facebook.  On February 1, the kids woke up to their door being decorated with streamers and one heart with a word about them.  I added a heart with a word each day until February 14th when they woke up with a door full of words about what Clint and I appreciate about them…what they add to our family.

Atlanta Erg Sprints and Rowing Competition at Georgia Tech | Emma
When I first met @clintstrange32, he told me about all these people he “rode” with in college. I thought he was handsome, so I let it go…but, I rode with lots of people and they rode with me too. It didn’t seem significant until I realized he “rowed” @GeorgiaTech and continued after graduation at a very high level…including the US Olympic Trials. Clint has enjoyed staying connected to the #GaTechCrewAlumni over the years.
Our family has been to the Atlanta Erg Sprints in the past and its fun to see the rowers compete on rowing machines lined up in the gym. Back before Christmas, Emma told us that she’d like to compete in the @AtlantaErgSprints this year. And…asked Clint to be her coach ?. She has practiced hard…on her own. We wanted this goal to be hers.
This morning she competed in the Atlanta Erg Sprints at Georgia Tech. It was so fun to see some of Clint’s Ga Tech rowing friends and even his Coach Rob! Emma followed the plan, worked hard, rowed her race, and won! We are super proud of our sweet girl for seeing this goal through.
Congratulations to our Atlanta Erg Sprints Junior Women U13 Gold Medalist for 2019. Way to go Emma! #7000days#RowRowRowYourBoat

Winter Break at Great Wolf Lodge | Clint, Megan, Emma, and Eli
The Strange Crew gives @GreatWolfLodge in LaGrange two thumbs up! We headed down after church yesterday morning and just got back home. 2 full days at the water park and we will definitely be back. An added bonus…we ran into some great friends from home which made for lots of fun playing both days! This was our first visit to Great Wolf Lodge and we are so glad it is just a short drive south of Atlanta! #7000days #StrangeAdventures2019

NCCS 4th Grade Wax Museum | Emma as Mia Hamm
I spent my Friday visiting with Mia Hamm, Davy Crockett, Bach, Joan of Arc, Jackie Kennedy, Anne Frank, Judy Blume, Jane Goodall, Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy, and several other important historical figures at the @NCCSEagles 4th Grade Wax Museum. I’m so proud of all of our awesome fourth graders! Emma has a blast reading about Mia Hamm and putting together her presentation. Thank you teachers for making learning fun! #GoEagles#WeAreNCCS #NCCSFamily#OurLowerSchool
