Emma and Eli: October 2019

October 3 | Congratulations to our awesome City Leadership here in Acworth! Super excited to join so many friends in town for the Acworth bridge lighting tonight. Such a great piece to bring our city together between the lakeside and the parkside of town. #DestinationCity#WeLoveAcworth@visitacworth

October 8 | Minding my own business at @krogerco this evening, I noticed that my favorite brand and flavor of ice cream was on SALE!! It was about a third of the normal cost. So…wouldn’t it be good stewardship to purchase three of them? I was originally planning to pay full price for the one. #AskingForAFriend#MayfieldMintChocloateChip

October 11 | I LOVE this picture of my sweet babies. Emma tried out for something and was anxiously waiting the email to find out if she had been selected. She let out such a whoop of excitement upon receiving the congratulations email that Eli rushed in and wanted to see what good news she had received. Sometimes they fight like cats and dogs and do everything they can to annoy the other one…but when it really matters, I’m so grateful that they are in each other’s corner and truly celebrate each other’s successes. I love these precious kids that the Lord has shared with @clintstrange32 and me! #7000days

October 12 | What a beautiful morning at the Tim Crunk 5K @cedarcrestchurch! Abbie Clark (10th grade) and Christian Moss (11th) from @NCCSEagles won the guys and girls division. So proud of all of our participants running so that the people of Haiti can learn about Jesus, have clean water, and get to have a great education. Loved having our @tritheparks friends running our timing today and keeping us all organized! #GoEagles#WeAreNCCS#NCCSFamily#HopeForHaiti#7000days

October 12 | What a PERFECT day for the Taste of Acworth! We had so much fun seeing friends, eating great food, and checking out the vendors. We ❤️ Acworth! #7000days@visitacworth

October 13 | Looking forward to a great celebration of God’s faithfulness towards and through @cedarcrestchurch this morning! 15 years of watching the Lord do far more than we could ever think to ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). The best is yet to come! #Grateful

October 17 | So fun to watch our girl try something new! Emma’s first @NCCSEagles Middle School Tennis match was today. We had a blast watching everyone play! Emma got to play doubles with a friend and they had lots of fun! It was a beautiful day ? for tennis! ? #GoEagles#WeAreNCCS#NCCSFamily#7000days

October 20 | ELI never wants anyone to be bored at the restaurant while they are waiting for their food. This boy brings so much JOY to our family. #EliTheEntertainer Who says crayons are just for coloring sheets? #7000days

October 22 | Awesome night with our @NCCSEagles Upper School family at the Homecoming Bonfire. Thank you Student Government for an awesome start to the festivities this week! #GoEagles#WeAreNCCS#NCCSFamily#HOCO19

October 24 | HI HO HI HO….Oh how I love these teammates of mine! Our @NCCSEagles Teachers, Staff, and Students have done an awesome job with their Spirit Week costumes! We work hard and play hard at NCCS! #GoEagles#WeAreNCCS#NCCSFamily#HOCO19

October 27 | Homecoming @NCCSEagles 2019 was one for the books! After a super fun week, we had a blast dancing the night away at the Homecoming Dance. These moments make me so grateful for the special family we have at NCCS. And remind me that there will definitely be dancing in heaven…and hopefully glo sticks too! #GoEagles#WeAreNCCS#NCCSFamily#HOCO19

October 27 | Today was a HUGE day @cedarcrestchurch for a number of reasons as we closed out our #FirstAndBest series. The 3 main themes of this series are that the believer should: 1. Give Generously2. Work Diligently3. Live SimplyIf we keep our mind’s attention and our heart’s affection focused on Jesus and hold everything with open hands, the Lord will allow us to experience more of Him than we could have ever thought to ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). What a treasure to have @clintstrange32 share some of our story today as it relates to handling money God’s way. We certainly aren’t experts. Actually…come to think of it…we may be experts in doing all the wrong things first!! Clint shared about how the Lord has used @daveramsey’s Financial Peace University to help our family learn biblical principles about money. For the last several years, Clint has led FPU at church and individually counseled people who have needed help in this area. My man is good at lots of different things, but he is particularly talented and passionate about biblical financial counseling. Like he said this morning “I’m sick and tired of debt keeping people from being as generous as they’d like to be.” Thank you to our Pastor @vanvandegriff for including Clint and encouraging people to reach out to him for support! *The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender. – Proverbs 22:7

October 28 | My handsome sidekick for voting after school today. We went to City Hall in Acworth and voted for our friend Butch Price to be re-elected as Alderman in our city. The whole process from getting out of the car until we drove away was about 5 minutes. #WeLoveAcworth#VoteForButchPrice
October 29 | Congratulations to our Mayor Tommy Allegood and our awesome City of Acworth Leadership team for a great Fall Town Hall meeting tonight. Tons of excitement in the room as we heard updates on existing projects as well as announcements about new things coming for our city. Our family is more committed than ever to this town because #WeLoveAcworth.
