Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! This is probably my favorite holiday…tied with Easter and Christmas. I love having a chance to sit around a big table with my family and friends to just catch up and share stories. Mom and I have been cooking and shopping all day and preparing for weeks for 3pm tomorrow…Thanksgiving dinner!

I have a lot to be thankful for so I thought I’d list just a few of the things here. I’m thankful for:

A SAVIOR that came and died for me so that I could be forgiven and washed clean “I’m Debt Free!!”

A HUSBAND that loves me more than I deserve and treats me better than I could ever have dreamed

A MOM that taught me what it means to sacrifice for those you love

A BROTHER who is my best friend that is serving in the Army in Iraq so that we can celebrate Thanksgiving in freedom

A SISTER who is my other best friend that I know likes me even though she’d never let on

A BROTHER IN LAW who hosts this website and is one of the most creative and giving guys I know

A CHURCH that is stretching Clint and I and giving us a place that we love to worship and “do life together” with other believers

A SCHOOL that for some reason allows me to privilege of being the Dean of Student Life and getting to build relationships with students and to watch them grow in Christ

A MENTOR that pushes me and doesn’t accept anything less than me chasing God’s best for my life

    Psalm 31:19How great is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you, which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you.
    Psalm 95:1-6 “O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
    Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.
    For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
    In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.
    The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.
    O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.”
    Psalm 100“Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
    Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
    Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
    Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
    For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
    Psalm 107:1“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
    Psalm 145:7They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
    1 Chronicles 29:11-13“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power
    and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
    for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
    Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom;
    you are exalted as head over all.

    Wealth and honor come from you;
    you are the ruler of all things.
    In your hands are strength and power
    to exalt and give strength to all.

    Now, our God, we give you thanks,
    and praise your glorious name.”
