Emma and Eli: January 2016

Happy New Year!  January started with lots of fun as we continued celebrating Christmas with extended family and enjoyed the last few days of Christmas break.  We always love to pack as many fun experiences as possible in to our breaks!
We had a lot of friends over to help us ring in the new year as we watched a lot of football, ate way too much food, laughed and laughed, and enjoyed great conversation.  2016 is going to be a great year!
On January 1, Clint and Eli headed up to Summerville to visit Clint’s mom and Emma and I headed out for a surprise girl’s day.  Emma and I started at Atlantic Station and went ice skating outside for the first time ever!  We had a great time and are already talking about going again!  After skating, we did some shopping, ate lunch at Moe’s, and then headed over to check out Ponce City Market for the first time.  It was a cold day, but lots of fun!  We wrapped up by meeting our guys at Mavianno’s for dinner to cross the last item off our “Strange Family Christmas Break Plans 2015”.  We had a wonderful dinner!
Clint and Emma wrapped up a really cool project they’ve been working on for a few months.  They build a wardrobe for Emma’s doll clothes.  It turned out really great!  Emma is so proud to have it in her room and loves organizing all of her doll stuff!  I love when they make projects together.  Clint’s dad came over on January 2 to celebrate Christmas and we all had a great time together playing and catching up.  Emma and I enjoyed watching the LiveStream sessions from Passion 2016.
January also brought about Emma’s second lost tooth.  She wiggled that tooth for about 3 months before it finally fell out!  Eli’s personality has really developed a ton in recent weeks and he kept us laughing over the Christmas break!
School started back on January 5 and life got back to a more normal routine around the Strange house.  Clint, Emma, and Eli helped celebrate cousin Bennett’s birthday while I had a commitment at school.  We cheered the Broncos on through the playoffs all the way to their win in Super Bowl 50.  Clint bought Eli a Peyton Manning jersey several months ago and it looked so cute on him as he ran through the house yelling “Go Broncos!”
January also brought our first snow of the season.  The prediction was for it to start early in the day on a Friday, so school let out half day.  It didn’t start snowing until around 10pm, but we woke up to beautiful snow Saturday morning.  We had lots of fun playing in the quarter inch of snow…gotta make those Southern Snow memories however you can!
Emma celebrated the 100th day of school by dressing like a 100 year old woman.  She was a hoot!  Clint’s mom came down and watched the kids one evening while I had basketball and Clint had a deacon’s retreat for church.  The next day they went to a train exhibit at the Southern Museum in Kennesaw and loved it!  The end of January brought some beautiful weather so Emma and I went for a long bike ride after church on the 31st to get our haircut and run errands.  It’s so fun spending special time with my girl.  Clint and I are so blessed to see the way that the Lord is growing our kids and helping them become all He created them to be.  Our heart’s desire is for them to draw near to Him in all things.
Here are some pics from January 2016…lots of fun!
