MAY 2 | BUB’S RUN | One of our favorite events of the year is Bub’s Run which has tons of support from NCCS and NorthStar…two of our favorite groups to belong to! The race is in honor of our friend’s son that passed away in 2020. They have done a remarkable job of using a very hard situation to be a huge blessing to others. The whole Strange family loves helping out in a variety of ways and we love supporting the Loveland family. They are sweet friends of ours and we are already looking forward to next year’s race!
MAY 4 | POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL | This year’s Powder Puff was one for the books, with the Juniors taking the grade-level trophy, but then being knocked out of the championship by the Faculty team. We tracked down the Faculty QB, US Principal Megan Strange, for a post-game interview:
Q: So the Faculty won this year?
COACH STRANGE: Oh yeah we did … and we didn’t even have to cheat this year.
Q: Well, there were some complaints that you brought in a Middle School Community Track Coach, Emily Buwalda, who was quite the ringer. Would you agree or disagree with the accusation that the Faculty team had a mercenary scoring all their points?
COACH STRANGE: Emily is an alumna (class of 2013), and —sure she ran college track and cross country — but she plays for our team every year.
Q: Did she score the majority of your points?
COACH STRANGE: She may have scored twice. Nurse Bartlett scored an extra point. Someone else scored a TD, too, but I can’t remember the third. I was the quarterback and can’t see as far as I used to. I threw them, but not sure who all caught them.
Q: Any final words to our teams this year?
COACH STRANGE: It was a great effort by all teams! The Juniors really played well and definitely earned the victory in the student competition — before we beat them. (Not that this had any bearing on my own household …)
Q: We appreciate your time, Coach. Congrats to all the teams who came out and played!

MAY 11 | MOTHERS DAY 2026 | I’m so grateful for a wonderful day full of God’s grace and kindness. Church with my family was extra fun with Emma and Eli hosting with me @nsckennesaw. Lunch at Pablano’s…our normal Sunday tradition, but so special to me as part of our family rhythm. A relaxing afternoon and a wonderful evening with dear friends singing and dancing the night away with @zachwilliamsmusic and @thirdday. Third Day was the first band Clint and I really enjoyed together when we started dating and their music is a family favorite. We’ve seen them in concert several times and last night was a blast! So thankful for the opportunity to cheer them on and pray for them over the years and to celebrate how the Lord has used them in a mighty way for His glory!
MAY 16 | GRADUATION DAY | Precious times with the NCCS Class of 2026 as we celebrated all that the Lord has done in and through them in our time together. We know God has amazing plans for each of these young men and young women and the BEST IS YET TO COME! Philippians 1:27
MAY 21 | 2025-2026 11th grade and 7th Grade
First Day > Last Day
The Lord is gracious and kind. What a year of growth…celebrations, challenges, and everything in between…all part of the process. I sure do love these precious Strange people and am so grateful we get to go to school together everyday! @clintstrange32 is always praying and cheering us on! #GoEagles #7000days
MAY 23 | GOD BLESS AMERICA | Always fun to get the old girl dressed up for summer. 🇺🇸
MAY 30 | LIVE SENT 🇩🇴 | When the Lord graciously gave us Emma, we knew that we had been called to raise her to follow Jesus in a way that meant we’d ultimately be sending her out. From a very early age, she has enjoyed serving others.
When she was 5, she gave me her favorite pair of tennis shoes to take on a mission trip to Haiti. She heard our team was going to be working with kids and knew someone might need them more than she did. When Emma was 7, she went with me to Haiti for the first of several trips. In those moments, we knew she was made to be sent out to share the love of Christ. At around 12 years old, Emma told us that she felt like God was calling her to be a nurse on the mission field. That calling has not wavered as she continues pursuing both nursing and Spanish.
We first went to TIME Missions in the Dominican Republic in 2021 as a family to help build a chapel for a church that had outgrown their meeting space. The Lord has knit together the heart of our family and our @nccseagles and @nsckennesaw friends with the missionaries and ministry of TIME. I was just there in January with a group from NCCS.
Emma has been to TIME several times and is headed back today for a 2 week medical missions internship. We know this is likely the beginning of longer visits in the DR as the Lord continues to knit her heart to these people and this place.
Thank you for praying for Emma and the many opportunities she will have to share the gospel and to bring comfort to people in the name of Jesus. We are excited for these days and can’t wait to see what God has in store!
“Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”” John 20:21
MAY 30 | WOODLANDS 2026 | So grateful to @bigjonestes and the entire @woodlandscamp staff for another UNFORGETTABLE year at Woodlands! When I asked Eli what he learned this week, he said “God is always there, even when we are struggling.” Massive truth with huge implications. God is faithful. He is working.
We are huge proponents of Christian camping and believe the Lord can do some really unique things in the heart and mind of a kid that takes a week to get away with the Lord, to worship with friends, and play outside.
Praying that the seeds that were planted this week will reap a mighty harvest for the Lord! #7000days
