AUGUST 7 WORSHIP + PRAYER | Always my favorite part of Meet the Teacher! Our preplanning week @nccseagles always starts with corporate worship and prayer with our entire school faculty and staff (200+) and it is a precious reminder of keeping first things first. On the morning of Meet the Teacher, our Upper School Faculty and Staff meet for a time of worship and prayer where we lift up every single name of our students, faculty, and staff that make up the Upper School family for this year. We know that there will be many things clamoring for our attention and affections, but only Jesus is worth it.
Will you join me in praying for the year ahead and the remarkable opportunity we have to walk in community to follow Jesus and impact the culture for Christ? Following the pattern of Psalm 86:11….on the mountaintop and in the valley, we desire to have UNDIVIDED hearts and minds fixed on Jesus and walking closely with Him.

AUGUST 7 TEENAGE SUMMER | I am so excited about the first day of school on Monday! I’ve been in high school since 1992 and can’t wait for another great year of it ahead. This morning I walked into the kitchen and was reminded of what I’ll miss most about teenage summer.
If you know me at all, you know that I am not a late nighter. As often as possible, I go to bed at an hour that starts with a single digit…and I love for that digit to be an 8 if possible! Fortunately my husband is a very responsible parent and he stays up late with everyone and waits up until everyone is safely home. If anyone wants to go on an adventure at 5am, I’m your girl! Anything that starts after 8, please ask Clint to join you!
In the summer, when I go to bed, the kitchen is clean and everything is put away. When I wake up, I’m always curious if there was a party of some sort at our house while I was sleeping. Did they have people over? Was there a cooking show in our kitchen?
As I was putting those things away, I realized that’s what I’ll miss one day. I’ll miss whatever all they cook and eat late at night and enjoy about being HOME. Teenage summer has been a GREAT one! #7000days 🤍
AUGUST 7 SENIOR SEASON | Our girl brings so much joy to our home and she loves her team! Excited to soak up all the fun of her senior season. Always cheering on our favorite #11 🤍 Let’s Go Eagles!
AUGUST 9 SENIOR CHALKING | What a fun afternoon! We joined Emma and her senior friends chalking their parking spots at @nccseagles. Lots of laughter, solid tan lines, and another opportunity to dedicate our girl, this year, and her classmates to the glory of God. When Emma was in K4, Mrs. Evans taught the kids Philippians 4:19 and our girl has continued to go to that verse as a reminder of God’s provision and abundant kindness. Each day she will choose where to park her heart and mind. We pray she chooses Jesus above it all! #7000days
AUGUST 10 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL | What an awesome first day @nccseagles! God has big plans for all of us this year and we can’t wait to watch those unfold!

So many fun senior traditions with the black dresses and little kid backpacks. The first day of K3 and the first day of 12th grade are a visual image of God’s faithfulness and kindness towards our family. There are no words to describe the way that the faculty and staff at NCCS have invested in our family. So grateful!
And Clint Strange always gets us started off strong with our first day of school notes and prayers for a great year!
Psalm 86:11 Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.

AUGUST 15 SENIOR RETREAT | I have had the privilege of being a part of the @nccseagles Upper School retreat since we started it in August 2006. I’ve seen the Lord love in some remarkable ways over those years. This one was extra sweet as it was Emma’s senior retreat and she is determined to lean in and lead well this year. Also, @woodlandscamp is so special to our family and to our school!
The theme for retreat this year was UNDIVIDED focusing on Psalm 86:11 and specifically: an UNDIVIDED heart, UNDIVIDED love, UNDIVIDED worship, and UNDIVIDED trust. I’m so thankful for the leadership of Robert Gnann for the whole retreat, for @blakegoss who did an incredible job as our speaker who “let Scripture speak for Scripture”, and @richsethhardy and our band from @nsckennesaw who led worship for us. We have the most amazing faculty and staff who love and lead our kids so well straight to Jesus. It was an honor and a joy to get away for 3 days here at the start of the year to evaluate the “many things” to make sure we are wisely choosing “the one thing”. May this year be all about Jesus. Walking this out daily in community is a gift!

8,401 days of choosing Christ first and then each other. I’m so grateful for @clintstrange32 and the way He follows Jesus, loves and leads our family, is an awesome friend, and is the steady voice of reason and encouragement for so many. God has been faithful to us time and time again and we walk in the confidence that He will be faithful in the years ahead. We’ve gone through many exciting seasons of life together, but I believe the sweetest days are still ahead of us. God is faithful. He is working. Happy Anniversary Babe!
AUGUST 30 Startup > Strange | TOUCHDOWN EAGLES
Just like they have done over and over many days in our front yard. Super fun to see it work out in the NCCS 7/8th grade football game the other night. I love seeing how much fun these guys are having! #7000days
