Book Review | Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals

Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals by Rachel Hollis was a great read for my morning exercise bike riding. Hollis is great at pumping people up and keeping them focused on the task at hand. She is an encourager and it comes from a place of gratitude of how she has grown and what she has experienced. She also made me laugh out loud at the number of ridiculous things that I apologize for.

This was a great quick read. I highlighted a few things and posted those notes below…

  • Brené Brown says, “Shame is a focus on self, guilt is a focus on behavior. . . . Guilt: I’m sorry. I made a mistake. Shame: I’m sorry. I am a mistake.”Location: 646

  • If I want to achieve any new thing in my life, the question is never, Can I do it? The question is always, What am I willing to give up in order to get it? Location: 796
