Lord Make Me Dangerous

This morning at Freedom Church, we had the privilege of hearing from Perry Noble of NewSpring Church in Anderson, South Carolina.  Perry’s sermon was a video message from the “One Prayer” series that was filmed this past summer.  The message was called “Lord Make Us Dangerous”.  I have listened to the podcast of this sermon before, but it was even better on video.  Here are some notes that I took…

1.  Walk with Jesus
-Luke 7:11-12
-Do I come to church with great anticipation knowing that God can do anything? Or frustration with the areas that I feel that God has failed me when in essence I am the one who failed Him?
-Jesus is coming towards me.

2. Listen to Jesus
-Luke 7:13-14
-God is bigger than whatever we are facing. We will think the words of Jesus are ridiculous if we don’t know who He is.
-Jesus isn’t scared of who you were. He is far more interested in who you are going to become.
-We will be dangerous when we do what God has called us to do without making excuses for why it won’t work.
-We will never be dangerous if we live in doubt.

3.  Believe in Jesus
-Luke 7:15-17
-A dangerous Christian believes the best is yet to come.
-Do I believe that what happened in Scripture can happen again? Hebrews 13:8

At the end of the service, God got my attention about something.  I have heard this many, many times before, but it hit me in a new way today.  Our pastor talks a lot about the fact that the mission of our church is to reach those that are far from God and to give them an opportunity to experience new life in Christ.  He went on to say that is the reason that he moved from Memphis to Acworth….to experience a revolutionary movement of God.  Some of the staff from our church moved here from Memphis about a year and a half ago to start Freedom Church.  We found out about Freedom from some friends and decided that God wanted us to be a part of this too.  It is cool to think that I moved from Memphis to Acworth almost 8 years ago to see God do amazing things in this area and that vision is only getting stronger as Clint and I, and now Emma, partner with Freedom Church for this revolution!
